ABSTRACT:
This presentation will give a global overview regarding the current use of storage in Belgium. Some cases will be presented to show that storage is no longer a theoretical phantasm but that it is already an indispensable part of the energy energy transition.
VITA:
Bert Gysen graduated in 1992 as elektrotechnical engineer. He started his career at Aquafin, the Flemish water treatment company. In 1998 he joined VITO (Flemish research institute) as project manager energy storage within the energy technology unit. In 2004 he became programme manager of the research group on membrane filtration and supercritical CO2 separation. After 4 years, he returned to the energy technology unit as unitmanager. Since 2012, he is also COO at EnergyVille, a cooperation between VITO.
